Healthcare, one of the most essential pillars of human society, has faced a constant struggle with the challenges of accessibility, efficiency, and communication. Technology used to speed up patient experiences has taken center stage as a transformative force in the healthcare sector, which continues to generate many innovations. At the forefront of this change stands Rachel Brown, a healthcare innovator and visionary leader to transform healthcare operations while improving patient access to treatment.

Through her role as Co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer of Titan Intake, Rachel has dedicated years to developing solutions that solve the healthcare industry’s enduring challenges involving delayed patient referrals as well as manual medical record management issues. Her commitment to the healthcare field grew from her personal encounters as she dedicated herself to transforming healthcare efficiency and accessibility while fostering universal access to compassionate healthcare.

Rachel’s passion for addressing the barriers in healthcare began long before Titan Intake came into existence. From her early experiences in the healthcare sector to a personal family tragedy, she has consistently sought ways to improve the system. With a background as the founder and CEO of Strides, a B2C app designed to support individuals with mental health challenges, she established herself as someone devoted to improving overall health outcomes for all individuals. However, it wasn’t until she encountered the challenges of manual healthcare processes that she realized how much more needed to be done.

Let’s see how Rachel is reshaping healthcare by optimizing patient intake and accelerating access to critical care!

A Glimpse into Rachel’s Background and the Inspiration Behind Titan Intake

Before co-founding Titan Intake, Rachel had already embarked on a mission to change the way healthcare operates. As the founder and CEO of Strides, a platform aimed at improving the mental wellness of individuals through prescribed physical activity, she was no stranger to the demands and challenges of healthcare. However, the real turning point in her career came when she learned about the inefficiencies surrounding healthcare access and coordination.

“I’ve always had a heart for how we interact with and access the care we need,” she shared. “I met my Titan Intake co-founders, Patrick Bruce and Jhonathan Vazquez, in one of my final MBA courses at Oklahoma State University. They told me about faxes flying around the background of our healthcare system, often being the backbone of care coordination and patient access. I realized I had been deeply impacted by the problems caused by manually processed referrals.”

This realization took on a deeply personal tone when her stepdad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2020. “I now know that his referral was likely sitting in a stack of PDFs or papers on the endless to-do list of a burned-out healthcare worker,” she explained. “No wonder it took 3 weeks to hear from anyone after being referred. I was determined to join Patrick and Jhonathan in solving that challenge.”

Key Experiences That Shaped Rachel’s Journey into Healthcare

Rachel’s journey into the healthcare industry is rooted in both personal experiences and her admiration for healthcare professionals. Growing up with a parent in healthcare she witnessed first-hand the power of compassionate healthcare.

“I grew up watching my mom, a speech-language pathologist, care for patients on the rehab floor of a hospital,” she reflected. “Supporting families after strokes, accidents, or a host of other tragedies, I admired her drive, passion, and ability to give patients dignity and care.”

As Rachel became a teenager, she faced her own health challenges. These experiences only intensified her understanding of the complexities of healthcare access. “As a teen, I recall being referred to providers all around my state to find someone who could properly diagnose and treat me. As I became an adult, moved states, and took ownership of my own care, I felt more and more of the administrative headache it is to get the care I need,” she shared.

However, it was the journey of her stepdad’s cancer diagnosis and treatment that truly crystallized her path in healthcare. “The experience that truly set my course was my stepdad’s cancer diagnosis, treatment journey, and eventual passing. I could not fathom or understand why things took so long for a diagnosis that was so urgent.”

The Mission and Vision Behind Titan Intake

At Titan Intake, Rachel and her co-founders Patrick and Jhonathan are driven by a singular vision to improve the patient experience through technological innovation. “At Titan we envision a world where patients promptly receive the care they need and where healthcare professionals can focus solely on quality patient care,” she said. This vision is not just a lofty idea—it’s something that drives the company every day in their mission to create seamless patient intake systems.

“Our mission at Titan is to use technology to change the patient experience for the better through seamless patient intake,” she emphasized. This focus on using technology to remove the administrative barriers that delay patient care is a central tenet of the company’s goals.

Impact on Healthcare Innovation

Titan Intake is making a remarkable impact on the healthcare industry by transforming the speed at which patients can access care. Traditional methods, like faxes and manual referrals, often cause delays in patient care. Titan Intake’s innovative technology removes these barriers, enabling medical records to be processed swiftly and accurately, without requiring any additional effort from physicians or patients.

“Delays are no longer caused by faxes getting lost or dragged into the wrong eFax folder. Accurate and complete records can now be sorted, triaged, and transcribed in a matter of seconds,” she explained. “With Titan Intake, my family would have heard from our oncologist by the time we drove home after hearing that terrifying diagnosis.”

This ability to expedite patient care is life-changing for many, as Rachel’s own experiences demonstrate. “I wish something like Titan Intake had existed when my stepdad was diagnosed with cancer. I can viscerally remember what that black hole of information felt like,” she shared.

The Biggest Challenges Titan Intake is Solving in Healthcare

One of the most significant challenges Titan Intake is solving is the manual transmission of medical records, which creates a host of problems in healthcare systems. The hours of human labor required to process faxes, emails, webforms, and other records lead to inefficiency, errors, and delays in patient care.

“Manual transmission of records creates a host of issues. Ingesting faxes, emails, webforms, direct messages, carrier pigeons, etc., takes hundreds of hours of human labor and oversight,” she explained. “Records must be read, sorted, renamed, triaged, consolidated, separated, moved, signed, completed, and transcribed before patients ever hear from their providers.”

This inefficient system often means that important information is buried in countless PDFs, making it nearly impossible for healthcare leaders to make informed decisions. “Critical data is hidden in thousands of PDFs that leaders need in order to grow efficiently and effectively,” she continued. “Meanwhile, patients and referring providers are left in a helpless black hole of information just waiting on an unknown number to call someday.”

Rachel’s Day-to-Day Role

In her role, Rachel wears many hats. From overseeing the company’s growth and revenue strategies to managing client relationships and business development, her days are filled with constant challenges and opportunities for innovation.

“In short, my day-to-day is filled with sharing Titan’s story,” she said. “Whether in a cold call, on a demo, or in a contract, I get to spend each day sharing why we’re here, what we’re doing, and how we can help practices.”

Despite the demands of her role, Rachel thrives on the unpredictability of each day. “My day is always a roller coaster of learning how to do something for the first time or having to find a new way to do something I’ve done a thousand times,” she explained.

Leadership Principles Driving Growth and Success

Her leadership style is centered around empathy, leading by example, and staying focused on the mission. She believes in the importance of setting an example by working alongside her team to tackle challenges head-on.

Her leadership principles have fostered a culture of collaboration, innovation, and resilience within the team. “We have such a special culture at Titan Intake. Everyone deeply cares about our mission and the impact our work has,” she said.

Fostering a Culture of Innovation and Collaboration

At Titan Intake, a dynamic culture of innovation and collaboration drives success. The team is encouraged to make quick decisions, embrace challenges, and continuously learn, fostering an environment where new ideas flourish. “We’re constantly sharing real stories of the impact Titan Intake has on our clients and patients we serve. We strive to make everything we do tangible and real,” she emphasized.

This culture has enabled the company to attract top talent who are passionate about the company’s mission and work with cutting-edge technology to solve real-world healthcare problems.

Trends Shaping Healthcare in 2025

Rachel identifies several key trends shaping the future of healthcare, with artificial intelligence (AI) standing out as a game-changer. As healthcare systems struggle with physician shortages and rising costs, AI is becoming essential for enhancing efficiency and patient care. “While it may be obvious, it’s also true that AI is shaping the landscape of what’s possible in healthcare,” she noted.

Leveraging Technology to Improve Patient and Provider Experiences

Titan Intake is revolutionizing healthcare administration by integrating generative AI, large language models (LLMs), agentic AI and other advanced technologies. These innovations are designed to streamline processes and enhance experiences for both patients and providers.

“Our team works in a playground of new technology,” Rachel explained. “Before the breakthrough of generative AI, we were already working to solve the challenges brought on by manual record processing. By continuously adding the power of LLMs, agents, and other new technology, we’re years ahead of the curve.”

Proudest Achievement

One of Rachel’s proudest achievements at Titan Intake came when the company’s technology directly impacted a loved one’s healthcare experience. After her grandmother broke her nose, she was referred to one of Titan’s clients. Titan Intake immediately intercepted her referral, triaged it and kept her and her referring provider in the loop ensuring she received timely care.

“I am so proud that I had a hand in creating something that impacted someone I love and potentially someone we each love,” she said. This personal connection to the work is a driving force behind her commitment to improving healthcare.

Overcoming Obstacles and Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Rachel’s journey to success has not been without its challenges. As a founding team, they have faced incredible highs and devastating lows. “This journey has pushed me past what I thought was my breaking point on a number of occasions,” she admitted. “I am blessed with an incredible support system that helps me to forge ahead and find a way.”

For aspiring entrepreneurs in the healthcare sector, Rachel offers this advice: “As a founder in the healthcare space, it’s critical to stay laser-focused on the real problem you’re solving. There’s a lot of cool techs out there, but it has to meet a real need. It is essential to know everything about what it’s like to be in the shoes of the users, stakeholders, and patients that your solution touches. Your customers are your compass.”

A Lasting Legacy in Healthcare

Rachel is excited about the future of Titan Intake, focusing on the mission to simplify patient care transitions and reduce administrative burdens for healthcare providers. “We are laser-focused on our mission and vision to create more seamless patient care transitions and enable healthcare providers to leave administrative burdens to Titan Intake,” she shared.

Rachel also hopes her impact on healthcare will be marked by helping patients access the care they need more quickly. “I’d be honored if my legacy is to help patients get quicker access to the care they need,” she said.

As Titan Intake continues to innovate and reshape healthcare systems, Rachel’s leadership will undoubtedly leave a lasting influence on the industry.
